The Artful Trout
John Dory on black background
Couldn't load pickup availability
The John dory fish has the most beautiful dorsal fin. I managed to find one that had been line-caught so the fins were in reasonably good condition. I was able to photograph it with its radiating spines looking pretty good. John Dory are also known as St Peter's Fish, this is due to the black spot on the side of the fish where it is said to represent the fingerprint of St Peter when he lifted it from the sea. This is one in a series of fish on a black background.
